Being in business for almost thirty years in Long Island, Bulldog Contracting has the experience you need from a demolition and foundation contractor to get the job done right.

Check us out in Grading & Excavation Contractor Magazine!

Our company was founded in 1987 by Christopher Hembury, as a small business known then as Quality Snow Plowing.

He began this as a junior in high school to help out people in his local neighborhood. With just an old pickup truck and a snow plow, our company grew from word of mouth because of our good quality work. After working full-time as a police officer for twenty years, including cleaning debris from 9/11 for several months, Hembury eventually retired from law enforcement. He instead decided to work as a Long Island foundation contractor and demolition expert full-time. His wife, Rosemarie, works with him and is in charge of overseeing administrative duties and tasks.

Our Long Island business has created a name for itself as a reputable demolition and foundation contractor.

This is because we take on a large number of projects each year with many different services. Our main specialties, as a demolition contractor in Long Island, are excavation and snow removal, however, we have also taken care of many other projects such as residential demolition, land clearing, swimming pool removal, dry wells, grading, stump removal, street sweeping, plus commercial snow plowing and removal. We have handled all of these jobs with ease and will do the same for you as well.

Prior to establishing Bulldog Contracting as an expert Long Island demolition contractor, Christopher Hembury was a full-time Auxiliary Coordinator for the NYPD.

Ever since Chris was little, his dream was to grow up and become a police officer so he could help as many people as possible. In October of 1990, he was hired into the Midtown North 18th Precinct and began his new and exciting career. He loved giving a helping hand to anyone that needed it, whether it was a friend, family member, or a random pedestrian. Chris never acted with the hopes of being rewarded; he just wanted to make the world a better place. When we were struck by the tragedy of 9/11, Chris rushed in and worked whenever he could. He assisted many firefighters and other police officers at Ground Zero for three consecutive months, before finally retiring in 2006.
